Mystery Airships – Newspaper Stories:

In the 1800s and early 1900s, before the Flying Saucer craze of the late 1940s, there were many strange newspaper reports of Mystery Airships and Phantom Dirigibles or Blimps. These “Mystery Airships” were described as supposedly more advanced than the known technology of the time. These newspaper stories, the ones printed at least 95 years ago, have now entered into the public domain and are thus re-sharable and free to use and collect.

Charles Fort himself covered these anomalous stories in his books including Lo! (1931.) The Mystery Airship Phenomena seemed to have peaked in 1896 and was eventually replaced socially with Flying Saucers and other UFO tales in the 20th century.
