The Weekly Register (Point Pleasant, Va. [W. Va.]), June 22th 1898
We have often read about showers of frogs being dropped from the sky, in big rains, but never more than half believed it. A Guyan citizen however comes to the front to say to the Huntington Advertiser that they had a frog rain the other day after which the frogs were so thick upon the ground it was impossible to walk without stepping on them. If it would only rain first class beef steak, potatoes, bread and other table necessities, we’d try and get along with the frogs though a mess of good fish now and then would be good.
