“Ape Man” Story Revived by Deserted Outfit
KELSO, Wash., July 22. – A report to the sheriff’s office here that a camp near St. Helens, on the upper Toulle river has been deserted for two weeks has aroused the fear that some camper has become lost in the mountains, or met with foul play.
According to the sheriff’s office, the camp, containing a bed, cooking utensils and a gun, has had no occupant for two weeks. The mysterious disappearance of the unknown camper has revived speculation as to the existence of the much discussed “mountain devils.”
